Donald V. Ford
age 72, of Hendersonville, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Caro-Lynn Ford; sons, Bryan Ford (Becky) and Daren Ford (Kathy); brothers, Tom and Taylor Ford; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His family will receive friends from  1 – 4 p.m. Saturday, August 14 at Hendersonville Funeral Home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Ernest R. Adams
83, went to meet his Lord Sunday morning, August 8, 2010.  Mr. Adams is preceded in death by his brother, Bob, and a daughter, Cheryl Dillingham Powell. He is survived by Betty, his wife of 63 years; daughter, Nancy Herring (Bill); sons, Alan Adams (Carol), Philip Adams (Leanne), Kenny Adams (Amy). He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Dolores Alexander (Bill), Marilyn Adams, and Priscilla Foltz (Jim). Mr. Adams was a 1944 graduate of Centralia Township High School in Centralia, Illinois. He served in the Naval Reserve as an Aviation Cadet in the V-12 program during WWII. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Oklahoma Baptist University.  He received his Masters and Graduate Specialist degrees, in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  As a specialist in Sunday School growth, he was involved in life-long ministry through the Arkansas Baptist State Convention and Illinois Baptist State Convention, as well as 26 years of service at the Baptist Sunday School Board. He co-authored two books on Sunday School growth and led many nationwide Sunday School growth campaigns. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who devoted his life to his family, church, and missions. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Funeral service was Wednesday, Augugust 11, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville with Gerry Claybrook officiating.  Interment followed in the Sumner Memorial Gardens where his grandsons served as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to LifeWay Christian Resources, c/o Ernie McAninch, One LifeWay Plaza, Nashville, TN, 37234-0149. Designate to the Ernie Adams LifeWay Missions Memorial Fund.  Gallatin Funeral Home and Memory Gardens at Crestview was in charge of the arrangements.  
Damon Maurice Dunn, Jr.
age 17, of Goodlettsville, tragically departed this life August 6, 2010 in an automobile accident. He is preceded in death by father, Damon Dunn, Sr. and grandparents, Willie and Sadie Wright. He is survived by parents, Yolanda Wright (Tommy Smith); siblings, MerSadiez Dunn, DeMarco, Treston Wright, Tommy, Nia Smith, Brandon, Jeremiah, Hope Dunn and Ronnequia Christmon; grandparents, Eva (Nathaniel) Barbee; step grandparents, Christine (Jim) Williams; other relatives and friends. Opal M. Carter
age 94, of Hendersonville, passed away  August 4, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Leander Carter, and a daughter, Sandra Lee Carter. She is survived by her sons, Bill Carter (Bonnie) of Cottontown, Howard Carter (Peggy) of Hendersonville; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great –grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carter was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Hendersonville.  Funeral service will be conducted today, Friday, August 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Johnny Parrish officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery in Cunningham, Tennessee. Mrs. Carter’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation begins today from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Jack Dee Gay
age 85, of Hendersonville, went to be with the Lord August 2, 2010. He was born on April 4, 1925 in Charleston, WV, moved to Memphis in 1962, and then to Hendersonville in 2007. He served our country in the 736th Tank Battalion during World War II at Normandy, Ardiennes (The Battle of the Bulge), Rhineland and Central Europe. He graduated from Morris Harvey College in Charleston, WV and worked at Shoney’s South, Inc. from 1962 until his retirement in 1990 as Vice-President of Personnel and Training. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Gay; his father, D.H. Gay; his mother, Thressa Gay; and his brother, Charles Gay. He leaves behind sons, Dee (Melissa) Gay of Hendersonville and Garry (Mary) Gay of Garland, TX and grandsons, Taylor (Emily), Hunter and Nathan Gay. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 in the Hendersonville First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Justin Gung officiating. Graveside services will be conducted in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Visitation is from 6 until 8 p.m. today, August 6 at Hendersonville Funeral Home.  The family would like to thank God’s servants at Hendersonville Medical Center, especially the staff of the Critical Care Unit and Alive Hospice’s Skyline Campus, who diligently cared for and loved him from July 9 to August 2. Jeff Lake, Ray Whitley, Steve Wherry, Roger Sindle, Jim Taylor and Dr. Bryan Bondurant will serve as active pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Prater, Bob Daniels, Paul Kemp, Jim Thomas, Gill Terry, Ted Pearson, Dr. Bruce Chesser, Rev. Justin Gung, and his Sunday school class at First Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to First Presbyterian Church, 172 W. Main Street, Hendersonville, TN 37075 or to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
Linda Dianne Brown
age 63, of Lafayette, passed away Friday July 30, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Charles Brown; daughters, Stephanie Shreeve and Tina Mayo; son, Jeremy Brown; stepdaughter; Jennifer Gragg; brother Charles M. Wood and eight grandchildren. Graveside services were private.  Hendersonville Memory Gardens and Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
W. Richard (Dick) Reed II
of Hendersonville and Bethpage, departed this life at the age of 67, July 30, 2010 after a violent battle with cancer. Mr. Reed was born October 18, 1942 in Fairmont, West Virginia to the late Richard and Mary Reed. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rebecca Coffman Reed. He is also survived by a wonderful son, Daniel W. (Tania Montondo) Reed and one beautiful grandson, Daniel Reed of Scottsdale/Flagstaff, AZ.  He was a Certified Public Accountant with degrees from David Lipscomb University and the University of Tennessee. After retiring as Director of Internal Auditing for the Tennessee State Health Department, he taught and was an Advisor for the Nashville Auto Diesel College. For the last few years, he was financial advisor for ServPro Industry of Gallatin. He was a member of the United States Army Band and travelled extensively with the band. He was a member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ. Funeral services were Monday from the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Roger Coffman and Doug Brown officiating. Interment was in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Antonia Anne DeMartino
age 89, of Hendersonville, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010. She is survived by her sister, Carmelina A. Varricchio; brother, John D. DeMartino; nephews, Daniel and John Varricchio. Her family will receive friends from 10 - 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 24 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m.. in the Mausoleum Chapel with Father William Bevington, Celebrant.
Ethel Juanita Roberts
age 81, of Madison, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010. Mrs. Roberts is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Percy and Virginia Doyle Howell. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Roberts Million, Karen Roberts Bain and Lori Ruth Roberts; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral service was Thursday, July 22 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville with Reverend Courtney Wilson and Reverend Richard Gaia officiating. Interment followed in Spring Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Hendersonville Funeral Home and Memory Gardens was in charge of arrangements.
Ottie Tomlinson Carter
age 93, of White House, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Carter. She is survived by her sons, Thomas D. (Linda) Carter and Eugene (Ann) Carter;  daughter, Wanda (Houston) Hooper; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services was conducted Monday, July 19 from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Charles Williams officiating. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Interment followed in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Anita Moss Moore
age 79, of Gallatin, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010. Mrs. Moore is preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Cindy Fincher. Survivors are her husband, Calvin B. Moore; daughters, Faye (Ronald) Elwell,  Kay (John) Carter, Theresa (Millard) Bridges and Phyllis (Myron) Asberry; son, Barry (Laura) Moss; stepchildren, Leon (Linda) Moore, Calvin Dale (Edith) Moore and Mitzi Moore; sister, Edryl Ritchie; 21 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Funeral services were Wednesday, July 14, from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Jerry Sherrill and Bobby Hudson officiating. A graveside service followed at 2:30 p.m. at Smith Chapel Cemetery in Red Boiling Springs. Grandsons served as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Smith Chapel Cemetery Fund or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Kenneth Rabren
age 60, of Hendersonville, passed away July 13, 2010. Mr. Rabren was a strong Christian who read his Bible daily and was a member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Austin (Beatrice) Rabren, and Osie (Mamie) Jackson. He is survived by parents, Mark and Mildred Rabren of Hendersonville; sons, Lee Rabren and Drew Rabren of Illinois; daughters, Angie Rabren of Florida, Tara Rabren of Illinois; sister, Shirley King of Hendersonville; nephew, Jason King (Jenny) of Goodlettsville; nieces, Suzie King of Hendersonville, Tracey King of Goodlettsville; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and great niece and great nephew. Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 17, 2010 from the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeff Lake officiating. Interment will follow in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Paul Jason Green
age 40, of White House, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010. He is survived by his parents, Bruce and Charlene Green; brother, Peter Green; sisters, Becky Green Sissom and Rachel Green Young; one niece and three nephews.  A memorial service was conducted Monday, July 12, 2010 at St. Joseph of Arimathea Episcopal Church with Father Jody Howard officiating. There was a gathering of family and friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NAMI- Sumner County at P.O. Louis “Pete” Basham Sr.
age 78, of Hendersonville, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at his residence. He was born to the late William and Pearl Basham. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy Basham of Hendersonville; son, Louis Basham Jr. of Smyrna; daughters, Kathy Basham of Hendersonville, Linda Porter (Charles) of Bethpage; grandchildren, Leslie Vest of Hermitage, Alicia Basham of Nashville, Bryant Basham of Greenbrier, Charles Porter III of Bethpage, Allen Porter of Hendersonville; four great-grandchildren; sister, Agnes Crowson of Joelton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted today, Friday, July 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Hodges officiating. Dorothy Ryberg
age 75, of Hendersonville, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010. Graveside service will be Saturday, June 12 at 11:00 a.m. from Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville. Visitation will be Friday, June 11, 4:00 -8:00 p.m. at Family Heritage Funeral Home. Mrs. Ryberg was born in Nashville,  February 23, 1935, daughter of the late Glen and Ethel Gertrude Harper Tankersley.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ryberg, one brother Glen Tankersley and two sisters, Annie Yablonski and Ella Ruth Jackson. She is survived by one son Erik Ryberg and wife Sally of California; two daughters, Jean Bradley of San Antonia, Texas and Jan Brod and husband Steve of Chicago, IL; two brothers Robert Tankersley and wife Betty of Frankfort, KY and William Tankersley and wife Lindsey of Knoxville and sister-in-law Sue Tankersley of Paducah, KY; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
