Earlier this week, Beech standout Jonathan Sites signed his letter of intent to extend his football career and play at Carson-Newman.  Said Sites, “I feel that God has led me to sign with Carson-Newman and play for excellent Christian coaches and a winning program that is known for sending players to the next level.  I feel great about my decision.”

During the state championship season at Beech a year ago, Sites finished ten tackles, (128), shy of the school record.  Sites finishes his high school career with 215 tackles, five forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries and the interceptions.

Offensively, Sites rushed for 1,114 yards during his senior year.  The wingback scored thirteen times and averaged nine yards per carry.

Sites decided on Carson Newman, and to play under Head Coach Ken Sparks, because Carson Newman was one of the only schools that saw it fit to allow Sites to remain at the position in which he loved, linebacker.  Other schools wished to develop Sites into a safety or running back.

Sites signed his intent to play in front of family and friends at Beech High School library.
