The host Hendersonville Commando wrestling team captured a first place finish at the 2009 Hendersonville High School Invitational on Saturday, and Beech finished in 12th place out of the 20 schools who took part. Hendersonville finished the day with 215 points, while the Buccaneers finished with 62 points. Hendersonville’s Austin Large and Ryan Treloar each won their respective weight class. Large defeated White House’s Ethan McPherson in the 112 pound championship round, and Treloar picked up a decision over Hunters Lane’s Antonio Lillard in the 135 pound weight class. Beech’s Jonny Kleinert captured the 140 pound title with a victory over East Literature’s Corey Jones. Hendersonville’s Brent Vinson finished in third place in the 152 pound class with a win over Northwest’s Jake Sanders in the consolation round.
