Sumner County officials have issued immediate bans on fireworks and open burning due to severe weather conditions. Only fireworks displays conducted by professional pyrotechnics companies will be allowed in conjunction with July 4th holiday celebrations. “The near-drought conditions and extreme temperatures we are experiencing make these measures necessary for the health and safety of all our citizens,” said Sumner County Executive Anthony Holt. “These bans will remain in place until we see substantial rainfall and lower temperatures. Our law enforcement agencies will be monitoring their communities closely. Violators can be cited. We ask for everyone’s cooperation while these bans are in effect.” |
