The Hendersonville Parks Department and the Friends of Indian Lake Peninsula are hosting a park preview event and a community survey.

The event is Saturday, Nov. 17,from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at 119 East Dr. There will be hayrides and hiking. Enjoy fellowship with neighbors, family, and friends as we envision what the future holds for this property.

Following the park preview event, the online survey will be released. The objective of the survey is to gather your feedback on what passive park components you want to be included on the upper and lower portions of the park commonly known as the Batey Farm.

In addition, there will be two community meetings on Nov. 28 and Dec. 1; both starting at 6:30 p.m. at Hendersonville City Hall. These meetings are to provide an additional opportunity for open discussion about the survey topics. It will be set up as multiple stations with representatives to answer questions and engage in discussion.

If you are interested in volunteering to help with the preview event or if you have any questions, please contact us at fofilpen@gmail.com. We are also in need of golf carts, UTV vehicles, and food trucks for the event. If you can help with these, please let us know.
