Hendersonville High School’s green houses will officially open for business on Saturday, April 10. The greenhouses are a school-based enterprise operated by student Future Farmers of America (FFA) members who are enrolled in horticulture classes at HHS. All proceeds from plant sales go into purchasing plants for the next year, paying for student FFA fees and activities, and providing senior scholarships.

Thirty students enrolled in Hailey Gates’ Greenhouse Management class have taken on the responsibility of transplanting, watering, and cultivating the plants this semester.

The Spring Plant Sale offers a variety of herbs, tomatoes, peppers, hanging baskets, and annual bedding plants. There are Boston ferns, geraniums, petunias, lantana, marigolds, begonias, and much more. Opening day is April 10 and the green houses are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday at the high school until they sell out. They are closed on Sundays.

HHS is located at 123 Cherokee Road in Hendersonville. Parking for the greenhouses is across from the football field near the Indian Lake Road entrance.
