DAR pic national meeting

General Jethro Sumner DAR Chapter members attended the 128th Continental Congress held in Washington, D.C. this summer. Attending the Tennessee State Dinner were (seated) Jackie Lancaster; Deloris Burke; Nancy Gilley, Regent; (standing) Lanetta Groves, Second Vice Regent and Sandra Long, Past Regent and current State Treasurer.

General Jethro Sumner DAR members Regent Nancy Gilley, First Vice Regent Lanetta Groves, Past Regent and current State Treasurer Sandra Long, Deloris Burke and Jackie Lancaster recently attended the 128​th​ DAR Continental Congress in Washington, D.C.

They were among the over 100 Tennessee DAR members in attendance. While in attendance at the Continental Congress, DAR members participated in business sessions, luncheons, social events and evening ceremonies at which national DAR award winners were honored.

The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism. It is one of the largest and most active service organizations in the country. The General Jethro Sumner Chapter was founded in 1931 in Gallatin, Tennessee.
