A four-year-old boy suffered a head injury after being struck by a car in the Creekside subdivision just north of Hendersonville on Wednesday, according to Sumner County Sheriff Sonny Weatherford.
Weatherford says the child was playing in a front yard on Merrick Road with several other children at around 9 a.m. when some of the children ran across the road and the four-year-old followed. The driver saw the older children, but didn’t see the child that was struck, according to Weatherford.
Weatherford said the child suffered a head injury and was taken to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital by ambulance. The driver consented to a blood draw but there was nothing suspicious at the time of the accident, Weatherford added.
