Hendersonville police have charged two adults and two juveniles for their role in an apparent drug deal that turned violent early Sunday in the area of Cumberland and Lakeview drives.

Police received a call of shots fired in the area at around 1:20 a.m. on Aug. 18, according to an HPD news release.

Witnesses in the area heard the shots and saw two subjects flee from the area, according to police.  Police arrived and located four individuals they say were connected to a drug deal. They believe four other people were involved and that one of the eight fired a gunshot.

Shortly after the shot, the vehicle caught later by police returned to the area and two of its occupants pistol whipped one of those involved in the other side of the drug sale before fleeing, police said.

Karreon Carey, 19 of Hendersonville and Marcus McCord, 18 of Ashland City and two juveniles have been charged with aggravated assault.

Carey and McCord were transported to the Sumner County Jail and the juveniles were transported to Sumner County Detention.

Police say that charges could be brought against some of the remaining subjects – one adult and three juveniles – once the investigation is complete.

Police ask that anyone with information on this case please call and report that information to the Hendersonville Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division at 615 264-5303 or the Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at 615 573-5400. Tips may also be submitted using the P3 Tips Mobile Application.
