The Hendersonville Chamber Foundation recently presented this year’s Golden Apple Grant winners. 

The purpose of the grant program is to address a need or to develop a creative new program which advances teaching and learning within the guidelines of the respective public or private school.  

The grant project must fit within the established mission of the school and coincide with the goals and objectives of the school or school system.  

The following teachers were awarded grants totaling over $33,000:

Beech Elementary

Christian Community School *Amanda Humphrey and Summer Phillips - Hip Hip Hooray! Science and Technology for Second Grade – Awarded $1,445.36

Hendersonville High

*Carole Everson and Lauie Kerhoulas-Brown – Lighting the Way – $3,000

*Wendy Vincent and Julie MacFarland – HHS Mini-Medical School – $1,500
