16 vie for State, US seats in primary

In the Unites States House of Representatives District 6 Republican primary, Bob Corlew, Judd Matheny, Christopher Brian Monday, John Rose and Lavern Vivio are vying for the party’s nomination to fill the seat that will be vacated by Congressman Diane Black (R-Gallatin) who announced last year that she would be running for governor of Tennessee. In the Democratic primary for the seat are Dawn Barlow, Christopher Martin Finley, Peter Heffernan and Merrilee Wineinger.

In the Tennessee House of Representatives District 40 Republican primary, incumbent Terri Lynn Weaver is being challenged by fellow Lancaster resident Chad Williams. No candidate qualified in the Democratic primary for the seat.

In the Tennessee House of Representatives District 44 Republican primary, incumbent William Lamberth of Cottontown is running unopposed. In the Democratic primary for the seat, Rachel Mackey is also running unopposed.

There are two candidates – Avery Field and Johnny Garrett – in the Republican primary to fill the Tennessee House of Representatives District 45 seat that is being vacated by State Rep. Courtney Rogers (R-Goodlettsville) who announced earlier this year that she was not seeing re-election. In the Democratic primary for the seat, Hana Ali is running unopposed.
