Jeff Coker’s first professional priority is taking care of the insurance needs of Coker, Wolfe & Associates’ clients. Outside the office, however, Jeff is very community minded.

A graduate of Leadership Sumner, he serves on multiple boards and advisory groups in various capacities, is the treasurer of the Republican Party of Sumner County, a member of the Insurors of Tennessee’s government relations committee and volunteered as Sumner County Chair for Bill Lee’s gubernatorial campaign last year.

Coker was recently invited by Governor Lee to serve on the Class of 2022 Governor’s Management Fellowship Executive Committee. The Tennessee Governor’s Management Fellowship is a two-year program that attracts some of the best and brightest young professionals to work alongside the state’s top executive leaders. The fellowship is highly competitive and the role of the Executive Committee is to select only the most qualified candidates who will make the most out of this opportunity.

As a member of the executive committee, Coker spent the evening of Nov. 18 at the Governor’s residence meeting and socializing with the candidates, as well as the Governor and First Lady. The next day was spent at the capitol interviewing each of the 10 fellowship finalists. Along with the other committee members, he was then tasked with recommending the five candidates he felt would best represent the state and bring new perspectives and ideas to help improve Tennessee’s operations.

“It was an honor to be appointed by Governor Lee to this position and I’m blessed to be able to serve,” Coker said. “Meeting and interviewing the candidates for the fellowship leaves me excited for the future of our state. Being part of the selection committee is not a responsibility I took lightly and I appreciate Governor Lee’s trust in making our recommendations.”

Coker joined Coker, Wolfe & Associates, Inc. in 2002 and became president of the 46-year-old independent insurance agency in 2017. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees, is a Certified Insurance Counselor and a Certified Authority on Workers’ Compensation.
