Police say a Nashville man has been charged with three counts of shoplifting after returning to the store he previously stole nine televisions from.


Hendersonville police responded to the Walmart on Anderson Lane at around 8:30 a.m. on Monday after someone reported that a serial shoplifter had returned to the store. 


Johnny Tidwell, 51, was located and charged with two counts of misdemeanor theft and one count of felony theft, according to HPD Det. Sgt. Chris Gagnon. 


Tidwell was captured on video stealing two big screen televisions on Feb. 19 and 23 and five big screen televisions on Feb. 20.


Police say Tidwell had been previously banned from the store and they believed he returned to commit another theft. 


Tidwell was transported to the Sumner County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on March 11.
