Hendersonville police are asking for the public’s help in solving two recent incidents in which pedestrians were hit with eggs thrown from a passing vehicle.

According to HPD Detective Sgt. Neal Harris, police believe at least two white male teens riding in a silver SUV Jeep Liberty or similar vehicle may be responsible for the crimes that occurred at around 4:30 and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

“We would love to have the public’s help with this,” said Harris. “A lot of time these types of incidents are thought to be harmless pranks but we did have some injuries – one of which was quite serious.”

Harris said the incidents occurred at around 4:30 p.m. at Oak Place near Indian Lake Road on the Indian Lake peninsula, and at 5 p.m. near the entrance to the park on Saundersville Road east of the Hendersonville Public Library.

Two women sustained minor bruising in the latter incident while a woman walking on the Indian Lake peninsula suffered extensive injuries to her face, Harris added. The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police are asking for any potential witnesses or anyone with information about the incidents or similar incidents to report those to the Hendersonville Police Criminal Investigation Division at 615-264-5303. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at 615-594-4113.
