Hendersonville police have charged a man and a woman in connection with a break-in and shooting near Colonial Drive on Tuesday.
Stephen Clark, 37 and Jennifer Zemba, 34, are charged with attempted murder and aggravated burglary for an incident that occurred at around 5:25 p.m., according to an HPD media release.
Police say that officers responded to a burglary complaint in the area of Colonial Drive when they immediately learned that the home’s owner had been shot.
An investigation found that two subjects entered an enclosed porch area of the residence. The owner was shot when he saw the two try to force their way into the main part of the home, according to police.
Clark and Zemba were soon identified by police as suspects. The two were arrested in Bethpage a short time later following a traffic accident.
A bond amount and court date hadn’t been set at the time of the release.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital.
