William “Bill” Luther Stinson Sr.




William “Bill” Luther Stinson Sr., 83, of Hendersonville, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Zachariah Stinson and Verda Florence Mangrum, and brother, Jerry Stinson. Survived by his wife, Faye, of 64 years, children, Donna Brauer (Tim), Gail Stinson Schibig and William “Bill” Luther Stinson Jr. Bill is also survived by his grandsons, T.J. Brauer and Will Schibig, along with extended family and friends.

Bill was born on October 24, 1938 in Santa Fe, Tennessee. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Postal Inspector. Bill then worked for the State of Tennessee, Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Bill was the President of the former Exchange Club in Hendersonville. He was a kind man who was generous of his time and was considered a hero to many, always willing to help someone in need. He was golfer and loved talking sports with his grandsons.

A private graveside service for Bill will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, 353 East Main Street, at 12:00 PM on Thursday, September 16th, officiated by Mr. Ernie Bates. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
