Leadership is coming as Brenda Payne has formally announced her run for Mayor of Hendersonville. Her supporters call Brenda the perfect candidate for this city. She is a champion of strong leadership, she has vast experience and Payne has a true heart for community service.
Payne will concentrate on economic and workforce development for new business and industry and will support public safety and improve infrastructure. She will lead with conservative, transparent and financial accountability.

Payne is no stranger to important leadership roles and has over 45 years of experience in management, fund-raising and relationship building. Her professional roles include growing the endowment fund tenfold at Volunteer State Community College, establishing and managing the regional claims operation for a large insurance company as well as holding the president and CEO position of the Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Among her many civic accomplishments, she led the Hendersonville Rotary Club to be named "District Club of the Year” during her year as President, she was named Business Woman of the Year by the Hendersonville Business and Professional Women as well as Volunteer of the Year by United Way of Sumner County. Her community driven leadership is well known throughout this city.
Payne’s kick-off fundraiser event will be held on Oct. 17 from 5-7 p.m. at Spring Haven Mansion- 545 E Main St.
