PUBLIC NOTICE 20 DAY COMMENT PERIODS AND VIRTUAL PUBLIC HEARING Hendersonville Five Year Amended Consolidated Plan, Amended 2020-2021 Annual Action Plan A 20 day public-comment period for the Draft of the Hendersonville Five-Year Amended Consolidated Plan covering the period from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2022 and the 2020-2021 Amended Annual Action Plan covering the period from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 begins March 18, 2021 and ends April 6, 2021. The Plans may be downloaded from the website at www.hvilletn.org/departments/ planning/community-development-block-grant-cdbg. Copies of the Plan are also available at the Planning Department in City Hall at 101 Maple Drive North or can be mailed upon request. A virtual Public Hearing will occur on April 6, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. regarding the Hendersonville Five-Year Amended Consolidated Plan covering the period from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2022 and the 2020-2021 Annual Action Plan covering the period from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. The Consolidated Plan is a requirement for the City of Hendersonville to receive funds through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Consolidated Plan is a comprehensive planning document on housing and community development that includes an analysis of the current housing market, an assessment of the affordable and fair housing and community development needs, strategies and goals for meeting the needs identified, and an annual action plan for utilizing CDBG funds allocated to the City of Hendersonville. As required, the Plan identifies specific strategies to address affordable housing in general, non-housing community development, housing homeless persons, and supportive housing for persons with special needs. The 2020-2021 Annual Action Plan proposes reappropriation of CDBG funding to the Hendersonville Senior Center Phase II Site and ADA Improvements project and the CDBG-CV funding of Phase III improvements to the Hendersonville Senior Citizen’s Center that include a new HVAC and air purification system to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Through the CARES Act, CDBG-CV funds have been made available and are being proposed for the Senior Center Phase III project.
