GALLATIN — Tied in the top of the seventh inning, Hendersonville’s Zach Dumas stepped to the plate and delivered a line drive to centerfield to score Joe Dalton for the go-ahead game winning run.
The 4-3 victory for the Commandos over Station Camp improved the Commandos to 6-1 on the season while dropping the Bison to 0-3.
Ryan Oden earned the win on the mound for the Commandos, pitching five complete innings while teammate Cole Nycz earned the save with two innings pitched.
The two combined to strikeout 14 batters, including 11 from Oden while giving up a combined five hits and two earned runs.
Bryan Ramos paced the Bison in the batter’s box, hitting 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored while Landon Jones, TJ Blasucci and Carter Casabella all recorded hits for the maroon and silver.
Hendersonville’s Hays Pfaffman led the Commandos at the plate, finishing 3-for4 with one RBI while Zach Zimmerle collected two hits, one run scored and one RBI.
Station Camp jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Ramos scored on a passed ball strikeout, but that’s all the damage the Bison would do.
Hendersonville claimed a 3-1 lead in the third inning scoring on a a single from Zimmerle to score RR Mabrey, a Bison error to plate Zimmerle and another single from Pfaffman to plate Carson Rodden.
The Bison battled in the sixth inning, scoring two runs to tie the game at 3-3 on a Casabella single to third base to score Cutler and a sacrifice fly to right field to plate Blasucci.
Following their one run seventh inning, Nycz struck out the side to end the contest, 4-3.
