Fab 15: Midstate girls basketball power rankings as of Jan. 16

Welcome back to the Main Street Preps Fab 15 Midstate girls basketball power rankings.

Here’s a look at how Nashville-area and Midstate teams stack up 1-15, across all classes.

1. Blackman (19-1): The Blaze earned quality wins over Rockvale and Oakland last week to extend their win streak to 12 games. Blackman has only surrendered more than 45 points once during that stretch.

Next game: Tuesday vs. Siegel

2. Webb School (15-3): It remains to be seen whether any Tennessee-based team can top the Lady Feet, who demolished Class 4A contender Arlington 107-52 on Saturday at Bartlett High School.

Next game: Tuesday vs. University School of Nashville

3. Coffee County (22-1): The Red Raiders enter their District 6-4A opener on Tuesday after a full week of rest.

Last week’s record, ranking: 0-0, No. 3

Next game: Tuesday vs. Shelbyville

4. Cookeville (16-3): The Lady Cavs rolled to victories at Green Hill and Lebanon behind strong play from Kentucky Wesleyan signee Jordan Gillies. She averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds and 3.5 assists for the week.

Last week’s record, ranking: 2-0, No. 4

Next game: Tuesday at Mt. Juliet

5. Ensworth (14-3): Jaloni Cambridge scored 28 points in a rout of Pope Prep and then went for 33 in a win over Brentwood Academy to close the week.

Last week’s record, ranking: 2-0, No. 5

Next game: Tuesday at Lipscomb Acad.

6. York Institute (17-2): Sisters Reese and Gabby Beaty scored 16 and 12 points, respectively, in a 41-34 win over Page on Saturday, pushing the Dragonettes’ win streak to 12.

Next game: Tuesday at Monterey

7. Nashville Christian (22-1): Senior guard Whitley Miller averaged 15 points across three more wins for the Lady Eagles, who’ve won nine straight and hold the No. 1 spot in Division II-A District 4.

Next game: Tuesday vs. Friendship Christian

8. MTCS (15-7): Senior Jailyn Banks (19.3 pgg) and freshman Anna Clay Shirley (13.6 ppg) continue to carry the offensive load for the Lady Cougars in their quest to keep pace with Webb School in the Division II-A District 3 title race.

Next game: Tuesday at Columbia Acad.

9. Rockvale (15-2): Following a competitive loss at top-ranked Blackman, the Lady Rockets dismantled Riverdale 67-38 with 17 points from Kamaria Murray, 14 from Tonie Davis and 13 from Annabelle Marlin.

Next game: Friday vs. Oakland

10. Livingston Academy (15-3): The Lady Wildcats earned double-digit wins over ranked White County and Upperman to move into sole possession of first place in District 7-3A.

Next game: Tuesday at Stone Memorial

11. Brentwood (13-4): After losing to Green Hill and Summit, the Lady Bruins bounced back with a 76-35 win against Overton. Sophomore guard Ella Ryan dropped 31 points and made six 3-pointers in that game.

Next game: Tuesday vs. Franklin

12. White County (17-5): After opening the week with a loss at Livingston Academy, the Lady Warriors rebounded by beating Macon County 74-44. Nia Powers led the way with 22 points.

Next game: Tuesday vs. Cumberland County

13. Stewarts Creek (18-3): The Lady Red Hawks beat La Vergne, lost to Warren County and topped Hutchison in what was a busy week.

Last week’s record, ranking: 2-1, No. 13

Next game: Tuesday at Antioch

14. Upperman (18-3): Last year’s Class 3A state tournament MVP Abigail Johnson had 13 points and 10 rebounds against Livingston Academy, but the Lady Bees still fell short.

Last week’s record, ranking: 1-1, No. 14

Next game: Tuesday vs. DeKalb County

15. Creek Wood (17-2): Trevecca signee Brianna Burgess scored her 2,000th career point on Friday against Greenbrier – one of three wins last week for the Lady Red Hawks.

Next game: Tuesday vs. Liberty Creek
