PORTLAND - A solid preseason outing in Portland has Merrol Hyde coach Jason Bentley feeling good about his team as we inch closer the 2019 regular season. 

Pope John Paul II High School (JPII) has named Pat Kennedy the new head coach of the men’s lacrosse team. Kennedy will be the fourth men’s lacrosse head coach in the school’s history, succeeding Bob Page, JPII’s longest-tenured head coach.

The first scrimmage of preseason for the Pope John Paul II High School football team was cut short by lightning, but Knights head coach Justin Geisinger saw some positives in the abbreviated outing.

Hendersonville – Beech hosted Williamson County foe, Brentwood High School, on Friday night at Shackle Island Stadium in the season’s first scrimmage. The opening 15 minutes featured the special teams going through the kicking game. The Bucs, who have been known to block a kick or two, got one tonight as they blocked Brentwood’s third punt of the punting game session.

The Station Camp Lady Bison are vying for the Class AAA sub state round for the fourth year in-a-row in 2019.

Cookeville - After making a strong impression as a graduate manager a season ago, Emily Hatfield will now ascend the ranks of Kim Rosamond's support staff, having been named the new Director of Operations for the Golden Eagle women's basketball program.

HENDERSONVILLE - Former Station Camp soccer standout Sophie Harris will continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a Division II University in the Gulf South Conference. 

MURFREESBORO - The Bison are competing hard this preseason.
