Eight Lady Commandos scored in Friday night's 40-33 victory over visiting Portland. Areya Rice paced Hendersonville with 11 points, including three 3-pointers.

Leading 21-13 at the break, Hendersonville saw their lead dwindle to only three at the end of the third quarter, 31-28, but outscored the Lady Panthers 9-5 in the final frame.

Hendersonville improves to 6-4 overall and 4-4 in league play, good enough for fifth place in District 9-AAA.

Portland drops to 4-12 overall and 2-7 in league play.
