Fab 15: Midstate boys basketball power rankings as of Feb. 6

Welcome back to Main Street Preps’ Fab 15 Midstate boys basketball power rankings.

Here’s a look at how Nashville-area and Midstate teams stack up 1-15, across all classes.

1. Brentwood Academy (23-3): The Eagles extended their winning streak to 12 games with an unblemished slate last week. Junior guard Tyler Tanner posted a 28-point, six-steal performance Tuesday against Lipscomb Academy.

2. Goodpasture (23-1): Jayden Jones (18), King Keary (13), Sip Collum (11) and Vanderbilt signee Isaiah West (20) all reached double figures in Goodpasture’s regular-season finale win over Davidson Academy.

Next game: Wednesday vs. MJ Christian

3. East Nashville (20-0): Tennessee State commitment Jaylen Jones (20 points, seven rebounds, 10 assists) and Raz Armstrong (12 points, 15 rebounds, eight blocks) both nearly recorded triple-doubles as the Eagles trounced KIPP-Nashville on Friday.

4. Independence (24-3): Independence survived single-digit scares at Nolensville (48-47) and against Ravenwood (53-46) to extend its hot streak.

5. Hillsboro (19-3): Hillsboro beat Overton 83-43 in its lone game last week. Since dropping contests to East Nashville and Goodpasture in mid-January, the Burros have won five straight, four of which by double digits.

6. Montgomery Bell Academy (15-3): Texas A&M football signee Marcel Reed eclipsed 1,000 career points in MBA’s final regular-season home game against CPA.

7. Clarksville Academy (20-7): The Cougars closed out their regular season by beating Donelson Christian and Friendship Christian handily.

Last week’s record, ranking: 2-0, No. 8

Next game: Wednesday vs. DCA

8. Christ Presbyterian Academy (19-7): Seniors Jack Fry (21) and Ryan Vollero (17) combined for 38 points as CPA closed out its week by besting Lipscomb Academy 64-62 on Saturday.

Last week’s record, ranking: 1-1, No. 9

Next game: Friday vs. Pope Prep

9. Lebanon (15-8): With a 20-point loss at Green Hill on Friday, Lebanon slipped in its hunt for an undefeated District 9-4A season.

Last week’s record, ranking: 0-1, No. 7

Next game: Tuesday vs. Mt. Juliet

10. Green Hill (18-7): The Hawks comfortably beat Lebanon 62-42 in front of a season-high crowd of nearly 2,000 Friday, and that’s not mentioning Monday’s road win at Brentwood. Green Hill has won 10 of its last 12 games.

11. Station Camp (19-6): First-year Station Camp head coach Andrew Perry is approaching a regular-season district title and the 20-win mark after sweeping Gallatin and McGavock last week.

Next game: Tuesday vs. Hunters Lane

12. Rossview (21-4): The Hawks picked up district wins over Northeast and rival Clarksville without starting point guard and leading scorer Messiah Ward.

Next game: Tuesday vs. Kenwood

13. Centennial (18-7): After winning 16 of its first 21 games, Centennial has split its last four. The Cougars lost to Franklin but picked up a 12-point win at Nolensville on Friday.

Next game: Tuesday at Overton

14. Davidson Academy (20-5): Despite losing to the Cougars again, DA narrowed the gap in Friday’s 75-62 loss to district-leading Goodpasture.

Next game: Wednesday vs. Ezell-Harding

15. Beech (17-8): The Bucs let one get away against Hendersonville on Tuesday but can realistically enter the District 10-4A tournament on a three-game winning streak.
