Rivalry, TV game & BlueCross rematch --

Five important games are on tap Friday as the local prep football regular season reaches the halfway point.

Friday action features an intense in-county rivalry, a regionally televised game and a rematch of a 2018 BlueCross state title game. Here's a look at the match-ups.

Wilson Central at Mt. Juliet

Longtime rivals Wilson Central and Mt. Juliet will hook up Friday at Elzie Patton Stadium in the Region 4, 6A headliner.

The Wildcats enter Friday's contest a perfect 4-0 after walloping winless Antioch 54-0 last week.

While Wilson Central was having an easy time against Antioch, Mt. Juliet (1-2) came out on the short end of a 7-0 loss to Gallatin.

"I feel like this team is growing," said Mt. Juliet coach Trey Perry. "There were a lot of good things, a lot of fight we showed against Gallatin."

Wilson Central's last victory in the series came back in 2008.

Hendersonville at Lebanon

Region 4, 6A rival Hendersonville invades Lebanon for a MyTV30 Friday Night Rivals contest against the Blue Devils.

Kickoff is set for 7:06 p.m. due to television requirements.

Live radio coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. on WANT FM 98.9.

Both squads enter Friday's game 2-2 overall as Lebanon escaped LaVergne with a 28-27 victory and Hendersonville lost to Beech 18-17.

Davidson Academy at Friendship Christian

A repeat of last year's Division II-A BlueCross Bowl state championship game is on tap Friday as Davidson Academy visits Friendship Christian School.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Pirtle Field.

The Bears (1-2) picked up a 14-7 win last week over Columbia Academy while FCS (3-1) won a third consecutive game, 46-7, at Grace Baptist in Chattanooga.

Sophomore defensive lineman Noah Tidwell recorded six tackles for loss in the contest while quarterback Justin Seagraves ran for 195 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Watertown at Cascade

Fresh off a 42-40 homecoming victory over DeKalb County a week ago, Watertown travels to Bedford County to take on Cascade Friday.

The Purple Tigers, winners of two straight, enter Friday's game 3-1 on the season.

Cascade is 0-3 following last week's 30-6 home loss to Huntland.

Mt. Juliet Christian at Grace Christian - Franklin

The Saints of Mt. Juliet Christian Academy are itching to get back on the field following last week's 65-49 homecoming loss to The King's Academy.

Next up on the schedule is a trip to Grace Christian Academy - Franklin Friday.

The 0-4 Lions are coming off a 50-13 loss at Cornersville a week ago.

Grace Christian has allowed 185 points through four games and has scored only 23 points.

Mt. Juliet Christian Academy enters Friday's game 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the East Region of Division II-A -- and is averaging just a shade over 22 point per game.
