Teams from the eastern part of the state were dominant in the Blue Cross Bowl championship games played last Thursday through Saturday.

The TSSAA crowned nine state champions last week and Davidson Academy, a 31-21 winner over University School of Jackson, was the only school from middle Tennessee that won. Davidson Academy finished 18th in the final Main Street Preps Top 25 High School Football Poll.

Ravenwood (2), Pearl Cohn (3), Summit (4) Montgomery Bell Academy (5), Christ Presbyterian Academy (8) and Springfield (14) all lost in championship contests.

Oakland ended the season where it began, as the top team in the poll, making it the best team in middle Tennessee in the minds of the voters.
