Beech celebrates a win over Henry County earlier this season. FILE.

Following a 10-0 regular season, the Beech Buccaneers enter the 2019 TSSAA Class 5A Playoffs as the number one seed out of Region 6.

The Bucs will play at Shackle Island Stadium Friday night against Columbia Central (5-5), the number four seed out of Region 5.

This quadrant is very difficult to manage, but if the Bucs can somehow navigate through into the semifinal round and give themselves a shot at Cookeville, they will without-a-doubt have earned it.

If the Bucs win Friday night against the Lions, they will either play Hillsboro or Shelbyville, the two versus three matchup.

If I was choosing who will win that game I would say Hillsboro based on past games as well as the speed that Hillsboro possesses.

No matter who wins that game the second round will be at Beech.

If the Bucs can win that round, they will move on to face either Page or Gallatin in the quarterfinals.

The Patriots are 9-1 and have a really good team, and the Bucs have already played the Wave, winning 14-10 in Week 10.

Whoever makes it out of that game will most likely play Henry County at home.

Other candidates to come out of that bracket are Munford or Kirby, with Kirby the most likely of the two.

However, I believe it will be the Henry County Patriots that will stand between either Gallatin or Beech and Cookeville.

If Beech wins the semifinals and advances to Cookeville for the second time in three years, they will play a team out of East Tennessee, most likely Knoxville Central, Knoxville Halls, Powell, or Rhea County.

There are a lot of different scenarios that can play out, but my prediction is: Beech vs. Gallatin in the quarterfinals, whoever wins that game versus Henry County in the semis, and then that winner will play Knoxville Central for the Class 5A Championship.
