Anderson Road-area residents are told to be on the look-out for an armed white male driving a small white pick-up truck after a woman says the man shot her dogs and tried to get into her home earlier today.

The Sumner County Sheriff’s Department issued a Code Red alert for the area on Tuesday after a woman who lives in the 1600 block of Anderson Road called police about an incident that occurred at around 10:20 a.m.

The woman, who posted about the incident on Facebook, said that the man emptied a handgun on her dogs and then came to her door with a shotgun and tried to get in her home.

“I hid under my porch,” she wrote. “He fled before the police got here. I do believe he was going to shoot me as well.”

The woman said it was the second time the man has pointed a gun at her and her dogs.

She described an older white male who is balding, tall and thin. She says that he drives an extended-cab, older white truck.

Sumner County Sheriff Sonny Weatherford confirmed that his department is currently looking for a white male driving a small white extended cab pick-up in relation to the incident on Anderson Road.  The subject is armed with a handgun and shotgun, according to the sheriff’s office.

Anyone seeing the man is asked to notify the sheriff’s department at 615-451-3838 and to not approach him.
